Writing for children involves the effective use of imagination, wittiness and often, the sensitive and dynamic use of tradition. As a result, children’s literature is often imbued with complex themes and imagery, which speaks to adults and children on separate yet conducive levels. When choosing a topic to write about on children’s literature it can be useful to target a specific age range to avoid making generalisations and to help recognise the differing levels of academic competence associated with different children’s ages. In this subject there are often strong themes, which have been recurrent over many decades. The following are some ideas that you could use for your language and literature dissertation:

Occasionally when discussing these final projects dissertation and thesis may be used interchangeably. However because they are written for different reasons, they have a few characteristics that set them apart. Don’t become overly concerned whether or not your writing a dissertation transcript or a thesis paper because it will typically depend on your graduating goal which type of report you will be writing. The most important thing to keep in mind is that both these papers are extremely important to your academic career, and you will need to be prepared to invest the time into them if you are aspiring to become an expert in your field.

Individuals enrolled in the following practice-oriented programs will not be supported: administration, audiology, business, consumer studies, curriculum development, human resource management, exercise physiology, filmmaking, fine arts, guidance, kinesiology, leadership, library and information science, management, nursing, occupational health, performing arts, personnel, physical education, physical therapy, public health, rehabilitation science, social welfare, social work, speech pathology, and teacher education. In addition, awards will not be made for work leading to terminal master’s degrees, the . degree, the degrees of Doctor of Fine Arts (.) or Doctor of Psychology (.), or professional degrees in such areas as medicine, law, and public health, or for study in joint degree programs such as the ./., ./., and ./. This program does not support the . portion of a dual-degree program. Interdisciplinary areas of study that have major content in ineligible fields listed above will not be included in the competition.
